How to Delete Old Backups in iCloud to Free Up Storage

If you’ve recently upgraded your iOS device, you’ve probably noticed that your older device still appears under iCloud’s list of backups. These previous backups take up a lot of unnecessary storage space and (assuming you have your most recent iPhone backed up already) they don’t really do you any good either. Here’s how you can delete those old backups and save some extra space!

To begin, go to Settings > iCloud > Storage.

Next, select Manage Storage.

Under Backups you’ll see a list of all the devices you have backed up to iCloud. If you have backups from an older device, it will be listed here as well. You can delete backups from older devices without affecting the backups of your newer ones. To delete it, simply tap on the name of the device you no longer want backed up, and then tap Delete Backup.
