How to Uninstall & Remove iOS 12 Beta from Your iPhone without Restoring Your Device

If you decided to participate in the iOS 12 public beta program but have found it a bit too glitchy, you might want to remove the update from your iPhone or iPad and return to iOS 11. There's one major downside though, you will have to restore your device from the iTunes backup you made before installing the iOS 12 public beta. That's why we recommend sticking with the iOS 12 public beta once you've installed it until iOS 12 is available to everyone. Once the shipping version of iOS 12 is released, you will then be able to leave the beta program without restoring your device. Here’s how to uninstall and remove the iOS 12 beta program on your iPhone and return to the shipping version of iOS 12.

The easiest way to remove an iOS beta software program is to delete the iOS beta profile. Doing so will remove you from the beta program (giving you access to public iOS releases again.) Okay, let’s jump in. Here’s how to remove the public beta from your iPhone and unenroll from the Apple Beta Program.

How to Unenroll from iOS 12 Beta

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap General.

  • Scroll down until you see Profile. Tap on it.
  • Select the iOS 12 Public Beta Profile.
  • Tap Remove Profile.

  • Enter your passcode and confirm by tapping Remove.
  • Restart your iPhone by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and sliding to power off. Power your iPhone back on by holding down the Sleep/Wake button again.

Final Step: Leave the Beta Program

This lets Apple know you will no longer be beta testing iOS 12. Your account will be removed from the Apple Beta Software Program, at least until the next time you decide to be a beta tester.
